DESIGN DEPT.

This department has 5 complete CAD workstations operated by former skilled patternmakers who have been fully trained in CAD/CAM/CNC procedures. Here customer drawings can be received in almost any 3D or 2D format and then processed to produce drawings for traditional patterns or increasingly transmitted directly to the milling machines.

CAD / CAM / CNC

Our CAD specialists work with supplied or self generated CAD-files to prepare digital milling commands that will be transferred directly to our HSC-CNC milling machines. These state of the art machines receive the transferred commands to mill positive models out of Ureol or CNC-cut rotational moulds out of block-aluminium.

An increasing number of our customers are now providing information in CAD files which offers considerable advantages:

· Absolute precision without compromise
· Realisation of very fine details, logos and free form shapes
· Faster processing
· Possibility to "mirror-copy" milling commands
· Reproducibility - with existing CAM data
· Simplify modifications - even on free form shapes

GENERAL:

The following information offers some guidelines regarding our CAD-CAM-CNC capabilities.

Our CAD-system "Cimatron 11.0" features interfaces to common systems like Catia and Pro Engineer; and also enables to read in common files formats IGES, VDA FS, DXF, DWG, SAT, STEP, STL etc.

DFÜ / DATA TRANSMISSION:

The data transmission can be done electronically using OFTP protocol (Odette); Eurofile protocol, ID-trans protocol or just by Email. OF course we also accept CD-ROMs; ZIP Disks etc.

For more details please see the information sheet "CAD-transmission"

CNC-MACHINES:

The installed HSC-CNC milling machines are 100 % digital controlled - specially built for model and mould manufacturing purposes. Thus allowing to work with different material - from PU-Foam up to block-aluminium.

The maximum milling range parameters are:

X = 3.000 mm Y = 2.300 mm Z = 1.000 mm
